Dang Gui ¥¦¾_ü
Extract of Dang Gui 30 ml. European Dropper Bottle. Easy to use, easy to carry.
4 ounces bulk Herb
Radix Angelicae Sinensis, referred to as the Women's Ginseng is the most important herb in the Chinese Pharmocepia for treating women.
Superior Blood Tonic. Builds and moves the blood.
Dang Gui's efficacy depends on which part of the root you use. The bottom part, the tail which is divided, moves the blood more so, while the head, the more round piece, builds the blood more. Our Dang Gui is the whole (sliced) root. We almost always recommend the entire root.
A woodsy aroma and strong flavour, slightly bitter when cooked.
Soups, stews, steamed, simmered or slow cooked with a combination of chicken, pork, or bone marrow soup stock. Marrow Stock: Break up (hammer) chicken, prok or beef bones, fill with water and slow cook for hours making a stock.
This is the principle herb in the Chinese Four Ladies Herbal Formula. (Si Wu Tang)
Dang Gui (Dong Quai);
Chuan Xiong (Szechuan Lovage Root);
Bai Shao (White Peony Root);
Shu Di Huang (Rehmannia);
DOSE: Dang Gui is best taken a few days to a week after your period. This is when your blood is at the lowest level and most deficient. If taken before, the tail portion of the herb should be used to move the blood (if there exists stangant blood) otherwise the blood builds up causing more pressure pain and anxiety.
Note that Dang Gui is NOT recommended if you are pregnant, have diarrhoea or have abdominal fullness.
